Probably time to start a new thread as "the same kind of transmission" actually means more then just "auto vs manual" when it comes to the C6. The C6 that sits behind a straight 6 will not sit behind an FE engine. So I guess I've got to hind a C6 that will fit my FE or possibly look into floor shifters or maybe there are other options I just don't know about yet.
John, I got the truck for a hundred less then I was willing to pay and he took my girl and myself out to dinner for the trouble. Seems I may have also made a friend. Overall, I am very happy with this truck even if the tranny is the wrong one. It is in beautiful shape, it almost seems a shame to take the parts off of it.
