Carburetor Help
It looks a little gunky to me and around the air filter housing it has a slight grease like film. I'm wondering if I should/could buy a rebuild kit, or just opt out for a different one.
If i replace the whole thing what other types of carbs should I look at?
I took a couple pics, but can't seem to upload them anywhere.

>With the correct air filter it should close. Unless thestud that is in the middle of the carb is wrong and too short. Thatsticker is just the company which rebuilt it. That carb is a regular FordAutolite 2BBL. That plunger on the driver’s side of carb is supposed tobe up against the throttle lever instead of next to it. I also noticed on thosetwo molded in tubes with the holes on the top in front of the choke air hornwhat looks like dried up fuel trails. Those are the bowlvents. If there is fuel coming out of those vents that means your carbhas either a float or needle and seat problem. Since I see the chokeunloader behind the choke airhorn I am assuming you have a 1970 through 1974truck? If so, you can buy locally a replacement carb that is listedfor your application.

1970/74 2100 series 2V carbs have a choke diaphragm that mounts into the top of airhorn. All you can see of it, is its L shaped rod.
DOAZ-9J549-C (Motorcraft CM-1283) choke diaphragm does not come in carb kit, sold by itself.
D4AZ-9A586-A (replaced C2AZ-9A586-B) .. 2100 series Auto-Lite/Motorcraft Carburetor Kit (Motorcraft CT-499-D) / Available from Ford/autoparts stores.
Applications: ALL 1962/74 Passenger Cars/Trucks, 1966/74 Bronco's & 1969/74 Econolines.
