All I got to say if not all the thieves are in jail, most of them work for Ford. I checked online and the 6.0x map update for the SD is 199.00 same as it has been for awhile with the old 5.1x. Only problem is the raping us Canadians take with some companies when it comes to shipping as the want 29.95 processing to ship to Canada and it is shipped via courier so in all likelyhood the will be the customs processing added as well as taxes. So probably works out to more than 250.00. Now the fun part, I had checked a little over a month ago at the dealer and they would sell me the disk for employee price of $209 +txs which I thought was too much but better than online, so I went to order the disk yesterday and the price for the new disk is now $257.00 +txs WTF is that. Almost a 25% increase in price when the US price stayed the same. I guess I will be using my trusty GO Live 1535 TomTom that I paid $199.00 and have lifetime map and traffic updates along with google search etc. Man these factory nav systems are a total rip off from the crappy sound out of the system to this foolishness.
In-dash nav systems eliminate the competition that keeps prices down, so they can charge you whatever they want. I've never owned one, and don't ever care to. My Garmin works just the same and can be moved between vehicles and is free to upgrade.
I had Kenwood touch screen nav in a previous truck. I realized after a week or so that it wasn't worth the $1300 installed price. That truck was broken into and the Nav ripped off. My insurance paid me full price for it, I had the original radio reinstalled and was happy ever after.
