I'm thinking of getting a Intellitronix 6-Gauge Panels. It comes with turn signals and high beam. I am wondering what I would do with the other lights in my instrument panel such as seatbelt, break light, and check engine light. Any ideas? Thanks
When I replaced the factory gauges in my Thunderbird (stock instrument panel shell, car was going to be a daily driver and weekend racer), I only kept the important things. My gauge panel itself had tach, oil pressure, water temperature, fuel level, and speedo, and I put in a couple LED's for turn signals.
I tossed the ashtray and climate controls, and made custom panels in their place for instruments and controls. All I had was brake and battery lights and an older ScanGauge II, along with a few other controls.
Remember that the battery charge warning light MUST be functional to allow the alternator to charge. On Ford factory gauge clusters, there is a resistor (500 ohm??) in parallel with the bulb, so even if the lamp burns out the circuit will remain closed.

Apologies for hijacking this thread, but my charge warning light is lit - even though the voltmeter reads that the alternator is charging...what could be going on?

I did something similar to this years ago in a Mustang and all I did was find a convenient place on the panel (or maybe dash in your case) to mount a few LEDs. I did this for the check engine light in red and the airbag light in orange. (my panel had a brake light in it already.)
