Hey everybody I have a 98 XLT 4.6 Expedition that I do alot of highway miles during the week.On weekends I trail a 29' camper on the beach. My question is what shock could I use to get the best of both worlds.

You can't go wrong with Bilstein heavy duty. Good ride, tough control, life of your truck warranty.

Welcome to the best Ford truck site on the net! I, too, have heard great things about Bilstein shocks. We carry the Monroe shocks at work, but from what I can see, Monroe doesn't seem to offer any heavy duty shocks. Bilstein has been around for a while, and everyone I talk to says "check out Bilstein".

Seeing as how most shocks are better than OEM, I don't think you can go wrong with the Bilsteins.

I just went with the KYB Monomax. What a difference ? And they didn't break my wallet either.

If price is a cost at all, you might want to look into the deal that Rancho has right now on its RSX shocks. I did a search on this site, and the RSX shocks seem to be pretty well regarded, as they are self adjusting. Best of all, right now they can be bought for $150 for a set of 4 with free shipping! Just another option.
