Turbo noise
I have a 96 F250 with 50,000 miles on the clock. I pull a #7000 enclosed car trailer. I recently had a 4" exhaust (no cat) and a 3" turbo down pipe installed. At the same time I bought a superchips max tuner and a 2 gauge piller pod with a EGT and a boost gauge.( the EGT is installed after the turbo) Since the installation of the exhaust I am getting a noise I didn't hear before coming from the area of the turbo or down pipe. Under even a light load as the boost pressure starts to build I hear a rapid "chuf-chuf -chuf" sound ,sort of like a steam engine. I hear the sound on the stock tuner setting as well as the tow or the hi perf setting. It sounds like a stall or surge from what I have read but I don't see it in the boost gauge which is just starting to come off the zero peg. ANY help?
