I found a great deal on 35x12.50xr15lt tires and wheels. Will they fit on my 1985 f150 4x4 and if so what mods will need to be made ie body&suspension lift, gears, etc??? Any info would be appreciated.
Less backspaced wheels. 4" minimum lift. Without knowing your engine its tough to say on gearing. Also forget ever hauling a heavy load. Bed will drop into the tires.
In a perfect scenario
6~8" lift
Straight axle front
15x8~15x10 wheels
4.56 or 4.88 gears behind a 300/np435 or a 460/zf5
There is a couple guys here tucking 35s with no lift. But i think they are 250/350s. You will also need to push the rims out with spacers or new wheels with less back spacing.
Yeah that's what I was thinking. These came off a toyota tacoma but they were already off when I picked them up so I'm not sure if he had spacers or not.
I have 36" military tires on my stock 250. Only runs on far left turn.
Haven't put more then a couple hundred lbs in the back but they should clear very fine.
If you want picks of that, go to the show your truck I'm one the next to last page.
Thing looks like a beast
Don't forget, with an F150, a Dana 44 is as big as you wanna go with 35'' tires. Any hard wheeling with tires any bigger and you'll start breaking stuff all the time. Anything bigger than 35'' tires, don't go to 3/4 ton axles, go straight to 1-tons.
