lokar cable to original bar pedal

lokar cable to original bar pedal
I've been scouring the site for someone who has info on this. I got a new cable and bracket that will fit the carb nicely, but the connection on the pedal side is where my issue is.
It looks like the third picture in this post: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...age-cable.html
The throttle cable itself came with a newer style connector on the end as seen here (second page left side the "clevis"): http://www.lokar.com/downloads/pdf-i...ottleCable.pdf
Has anyone connected these before, and how'd you secure it? I guess I could just put the end piece on the other side of the V and it should hold but I keep thinking there is a better way to do that. This is the LAST thing I need to do to get the truck running again and I kind of disappointed since I just got the cable in today.

Well I used a pair of cutters to cut the little plastic piece and put it on the new cable. This should hold in there just fine and it won't damage the cable or the connector for when I get around to replacing the accelerator pedal. I'm still open to other ideas if anyone has bothered trying to hook it up this way and not just replacing the pedal too.
I'll add a couple pictures tomorrow in case anyone is interested.

Weld or fasten with a nut, a bolt on the end, then shape it to accept the end of the lokar cable.
I searched everywhere for the cable brackets and had zero luck finding them.
One yard had a set, but it was on their run around the lot truck, and they wouldn't part out ol'dependable lol
Ended up getting the 36" cable and Eliminator throttle pedal. It takes a little getting use to, but I really like it. Though mine slightly differs, it is throttle body vs carb now.

You remove the clevis by disconnecting the fitting at the other end of the Lokar cable and pulling out the cable from the surrounding sheath. Pull off the clevis. Now run the cable through the plastic piece and put the plastic piece back in its oe position. Remove the entire old cable. I drilled out a fender washer to hold the cable on the bracket. Then, put the cable back through the liner. It is best to tape the end before you remove it, to keep it from unraveling.
