My truck bed has no anchor points in it. It also has a bed liner as well as stainless steel side rail covers. I need to add some tie down points for a dirt bike or two. I was looking at the multi position ones that clamp on to the side rail, like these: ProGrip 830620 Multi-Position Anchor Point - Pair
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of anchor and how well they actually hold. I like the fact that you can move them to where you need them too, just worried about how well they hold. Am I better off just drilling thought the side rail and cover and adding bolt in ones? Open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.
If it's an under rail bedliner, I think those would work out pretty well.
I had some similar to that, though I forget the brand name. Worked out fine for anything I needed to tie down, and I trusted them more than the ones that wedge into the stake pockets.
Depending on the weight of the bikes though, you may be better off bolting a few D rings to the floor of the bed.
It's an under rail liner but then there are stainless steel covers on top of the rails. They are one solid strip of metal with no holes or anything in the top of them. I may buy a couple and give them a go and see how they work. I like the idea that I can move them to any point on the rail, I was just concerned about their holding strength is all. But I guess like blue said it depends how much you crank them down.
