possible exshaust leak
This question is not about my truck but its actually about my brothers 95 f150. He has the 300 inline six and he told me that he is hearing an exshaust leak from the passenger side of the truck but can't pin point where it is coming from. He said it sounds like its up near the front of the cab. Could this be the manifold leaking or warped? If so than how hard will it be for him to replace it or fix it? Will he need to just get a new gasket or what? Also I know my 302 has a timing chain, but does his 95 in-line six have a timing chain as well? Thanks for any advice on this.

You need to pinpoint the leak. Could be a gasket, cracked or warped manifold, or the seal between the manifold and pipe.
Far as I know, the 300 I-6s all have gear driven camshafts.

I had an exhaust leak in my 91 300. The front manifold had a crack down the top of it. I've heard that they tend to crack like that. Replacing it is not too bad but you do have to pull the alternator, smog pump, bracket, and upper plenum. The manifold bolts are not to hard to get to after you've pulled the upper plenum. One thing, the top bolts holding the exhaust manifold also hold the intake.
