Hello i am looking to get a winch for my 76 f250. I have looked at other threads but have not found exactly what i need. I wondering if it is possible to mount a winch with the stock front bumper? I have seen a couple setups that had a hitch reciever style mounting so it could be taken out and put in the rear bumber too. I dont mind changin the rear bumber but really like the stock front bumper. If nothing else i woild want something similar to stock that i could reattach the stock push bar things. All advice is much appreciated
The OEM front bumper is not strong enough for a winch rated twice the rate of the vehicle weight (9,000 to 10,000 lbs). It'll bow and bend.
I suggest fabbing a custom (and strong!) support for the winch plate and and then perhaps bolting the OEM bumper over the assembly. You';; likely have to use the license plate area for the fairlead rollers.
YOUR engineering will be required to make it work.... there is nothing I know of off the shelf that'll retain the OEM bumper.
