transmission dipstick

I just bought a 66' ford f100 3.9 lt. for restoration. I am looking forward to recondition to its original state. however, the transmission tube along with the dipstick is missing. does any1 have any idea the length of tube and dipstick for this truck. thnx for your help

What transmission is in it? What tranny does the data plate indicate should be in it?

No such thing as 3.9L as FoMoCo didn't go to liter designations until 1980, 240 cancelled at the end of the 1974 model run.

Car/truck parts catalogs do not list the lengths for the following dipstick/tube.

C6AZ-7A020-B .. 240 I-6/C4 A/T Dipstick / Obsolete / No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

1966 Econoline / 1966/67 F100/250 & 1968 F100/250 before serial number D54,000 // 1966/67 Galaxie/LTD & 1968 Galaxie/LTD before 7/15/1968.

1961/78: The A/T TRANS code is G for everything! One had to know which A/T was used with what engine.

if it's a C4 trans... any SBF C4 pan fill dipstick will work (assuming you have a pan fill and not a case fill trans). i got one from TransDapt with a locking cap, about 50 bucks.
