Walt, how bad is it? If its just a crack it can either be welded up via traditional methods with a buzzbox. Drill both ends of the crack, V cut the area slightly, heat it up to around 800-1000 degrees, and work your way across the piece using a heating then welding technique. Well, on June 1st, I am pulling the ole girl into the shop to replace the wood in the bed. Probable at the sametime, I might just yank the front clip off and replace the engine with a 300 cu in. I hate doing that cause it is all stock but I am thinking it might be time. the carb is acting up, she is using more oil now. ai suppose I could put in a powersteering unit then. just dreaming I guess.
But for sure the wood has to be replaced. I will argue with myself about the engine after the bed is back on.
