Well, I hope you stop by to read this thread anyway Ken.
Yeti really summed up my thoughts.
When I showed up here, I did a random search on Ford trucks because I was looking to buy my first SD and had a lot of questions. Not only did you and some others answer them in spades, but you made this a place I wanted to come to every day.
I made friends here, (even if they are "virtual") and I count you as one of them. Someday I'd like to put a face to the name.
Over 3 years later, here I am, still posting and enjoying this forum. This is the ONLY board I've ever spent more than a month or two at, and it's because of people like you.
I'll miss you, and everyone that comes to the board from now on will miss the knowlegde, and more importantly, your way of passing it on in a clear and friendly way.
I'll miss the humour too, I certainly won't be laughing out loud in my office as much.
Like the rest said, I hope you find the time to stop in now and then. You can warn us about how poor a vehicle the Sequioa is and tell us how to fix it (should we encounter one on the side of the road).
Good Luck Monsta, You will be missed greatly. Since my first time searching for information on this site, you always took a minute of your time to help out, no matter the question. Thanks for all of your help. Remember IT IS NEVER GOODBYE, ONLY SEE YOU LATER.
Oh...I see how it is. You are too busy to come see us but you have time to go take pics of bikini clad girls and now you won't even post pics. Seriously though..As the others have said you will be missed and we all hope that you and your family have a great life over on the island.
Ditto the above post on the Saddleback road. I missed my SD's V10 on that drive. The rental Cherokee was wheezin' near the Mauna Kea summit. And nothin' beats mass, for those foggy encounters on that road.
We spent a week on the B.I. in March and loved every minute. Hope to get back soon.
I developed a 100% Kona habit, though. I get two pounds of Full-City roast each month from Fike's and KPM.
ken,i don;t know you and have never visited this forum before ,but when i heard that a member of F T E was moving on i felt it would only be right to say good bye and furthermore good luck...AND I SURE HOPE THAT WHEN YOU DO GET THE COMPUTER BACK UP AND TIP TOP CONDITION YOU WILL ATLEAST POP YOURE HEAD IN THE SHOP DOOR HERE AND GIVE US A HOWDY Y'ALL EVERY NOW AND AGAIN EVEN THOUGH YOU WILL BE NO LONGER ABLE TO FULFILL ALL THE DUTIES OF A MODERATOR.
again although i didnt know you i am sad to see you go=(
All the best, dude. Any idea what it would cost to ship your X to Indiana? I might be interested. Heck, I could probably get top dollar for that at the big Kruse Auction in Auburn on Labor Day. Bill it as "MONSTA'S EXCURSION" right next to Greta Garbo's Dusenberg!!
It's been a true honor having you here as a moderator and substantial contributor. You will surely be missed.
Thanks for everything that you have done here.
To all who replied...a great heart-felt thank you!
I will make every attempt to check in. With my computer still crapped out (I am ordering a Motherboard online, that is why I have access to post this...) I'm not sure when I can though...
I knew that I couldn't Moderate any longer but as for participating...well...I'm hope to be able to make some time. I must say I MISS IT! Plus some of you guys made feel guilty.
I should say that I have my wife really liking the Expedition. No Excursions for me any longer. It just doesn't fit my life style any longer. Plus I need a 4WD truck to access some of the more remote and premiere beaches here on the Big Island and an Excursion is a bit too large for that.
Hele On is right though...a SD would make a great addition to my naked vehicle stable. Although not now...I'm looking for the more simple life as of now...so maybe an old full-size Bronco for a few months...
