I have a 2002 Expedition and ocassionally for a while the rear wiper will intermitently go on and off and every once in a while the front will do the same now. All of the switches are in the off position. Any thoughts on what I need to replace. Would it just be the wiper arm/switch or could it be something else?
So I got a new switch for the steering column and the problem continues with the rear wiper going on and off on it's own. Any thoughts out there as to what else I can try to fix the problem?
Is the front wiper issue now solved because of the new switch?
In the under hood fuse box there is a rear wiper up #209 and a rear wiper down #205 relay. If the spring is broken in the rear wiper up relay then any bounce could trigger the movement of the rear wiper.
I have been told that my GEM module is bad and needs to be replaced. I have had a couple of people tell me that it isn't worth buying an aftermarket Module as they just don't work, even though they are half the price.
I have also been told that this is not a do it yourself project as the module needs to be programmed which needs to be done by dealer or independent shop.
