egr valve

I have a 66 f 100 with a 77 300 in it. I had the carb rebuilt, the manifold has an egr plate on it. I put a hose on it and had it hanging. apparently a Dirt Dobber built a nest in the hose, clogging it and apparently it blew my carb out as now gas pours out everywhere. I had the carb rebuilt last year and have no miles on it, do I need to have it rebuilt again or can I replace a couple gaskets in it myself? it cost 80 bucks for the last rebuild.
Thanks
SP

sounds like the float/needle is stuck and not shutting off fuel. the fuel overflows and comes out the bowl vent. Tap the bowl area with a scewdriver handle and see if it frees it.
