Manual Tanny Help

I have the 6 speed (ZF) i know there is a cooling pump on this tranny. Is there a way that you can check the pump to see if it is working???? If not will it set a code??

I have been pulling the same load for years(26' boat) i have a tranny temp gauge(yes on the manual). Pulling the same grade the twin sister hills in wyoming. The last two yrs the temp has been getting about 40 degerees hotter than the yrs past. Im running red line in the gear box.....and the fluid level and the fluid look good......I am just curious if the pump has give up the ghost. Or shes just getting old

Is the external cooler dirty, fins bent up? How many miles since fluid was changed in the trans?

Fins are good.......Ill give the fluid change a try! Probaly a good place to start........Is the pump internal or external
