LED cab light questions

This has been discussed quite a bit I'm sure, but I have a dilemma.

I have aftermarket lights installed on my 02 250 which are identical to factory lights.

I was looking at changing those to LED technology like the Recon or Atomic lights that still look like factory. Have read some bad reports on Recon's quality... would like to hear from anyone that replaced factory lights with LED cab lights...

Also, I like the looks of the Dodge cab lights. Just wondering since I have holes already in my roof, how far off these lights would be compared to the Ford lights and how many extra holes I would have to drill if anyone could comment...

Thanks a lot!

I installed Recon Dodge style lights when I didn't previously have any cab lights. I do not recommend them to anyone, but with that said there are not very many options out there.

So, if you choose to go with Recon Dodge lights, I would recommend removing the sealant on the bottom to gain access to the lens cover screws, reseal the entire lens and base unit prior to installation and then try them.

I have had to pull 3 of them over the course of a few years to "reseal" them as they collect moisture and do not work.

As for the mounting, the recon dodge lights use 3 small sheet metal screws to secure them to the cab, and then one hole in the center of the triangle of the 3 for the wiring to pass through...if I initially had Ford style cab lights with the larger center hole I would have stayed with Ford lights and LED bulbs. Hope that helps.

I put the Recon Ford style on mine. I didn't have any at all before. After I installed, I sealed the crap outta the bottom from the inside of the roof to keep water out. However, when its cold out sometimes one of them won't come on until its warm in the cab. I've pulled it off, revealed everything but still the same thing. It's intermittent. Outside of that they look awesome.
