rear bumper lights simple question

I have owned my 2001 F250 for 8 years now and for the likes of me I can not figure out how to turn on the rear lights that hang under the rear bumper? They look stock and there is no switch for them inside the truck.
There have been a few times I could of used them like last night trying to get someone out of a ditch that decided to try off roading but can't figure it out.
Are they just for when there is a plow rig hooked up?

They are not stock, Superdutys did not come from the factory with any lights under the rear bumper.
You will have to trace the power wire from the lights to the cab and find out where it goes, or if there is no wire to the cab then you may have to add your own switch and wire.

Look at the wiring. Wherever it goes, undo it and wire to your liking. I suggest the backup circuit. Also, check the fuses for your 7-pin if so equipped. It could be spliced into that and popped.

You may not need this but I found all the info on wiring relays and lights really confusing until I saw this.

i personally would not wire it into the reverse lights on the truck. They will only turn on when the truck is in Reverse and you cant turn them on if your out of the truck trying to plug in the trailer lights or jacking up the tongue on the trailer. On my mud truck i have a switch on the dash i flip so if I'm working on a buddies truck or trying to hook up a tow strap i can see without having to sit in the truck with my truck in reverse the whole time

That's what the e-brake is for

My rear Ranch Hand bumper has the additional backup lights built into it that kick on in reverse. On those few occasions I need it, I just put it in reverse and set the parking brake, hop out and do whatever I need to do, then get back in and go about my business.

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to setting some additional rear-facing lighting to one of the upfitter switches or otherwise a manual switch of some sort.
