Bullydog triple dog?

I friend got a Bullydog tripple dog tuner/programmer and wants me to install it. Anyone have any experience with it! Is it decent? It's an older guy that is not interested in any other tuners. He just wants to try what he was given. Thanks

Since you haven't gotten any replies yet - surprisingly not even ONE to start a giant bash-fest!! - I will give you my opinion.

I understand completely where the gentleman is coming from. This is the way I operate as well. Truth be told, if the programming on the Triple Dog is anything like the programming on the 6-position chips offered by that company, I'd really recommend NOT going that route. I have not, however, had the opportunity to see the actual "Triple Dog" tuning although there is little reason to believe that it's actually different. On the other hand, from what I have seen and run from more than a dozen other companies is that the lower horsepower calibrations will be much less aggressive in many aspects and if you do choose to install the programming for him, then I'd recommend the "lowest" setting.

I do, however, have a proposition for you.

I recently purchased a Diablosport Predator for researching purposes and I can assure you that the tuning is safe (by my critical standards). If the programmer he has is JUST the programmer (and not the one with the display), I'd be willing to trade just so I can give even more and better unbiased information to the masses (even though nobody ever listens anyway). We could also set it up as a temporary arrangement if he does want to try something different for a little while.

-Just thinking out loud.

I had the Triple Dog (the touch screen one) in my truck from when I purchased it from the previous owner.

Honestly, the only thing it was good for was monitoring a couple of things, and thats about it. IMO, I couldn't really tell the difference between tow, performance, and extreme. The tunes were a lot more smokey than compared to my DP Tuner, which hardly smokes.

All of our trucks are different, so whether it would make a difference or not, I couldn't tell you. IMHO, I wouldn't buy one.

Here is a pic of the box. I have not had a chance to look at it yet. The guy who owns the truck isn't verry interested in more power but wants to try it. If it does Gage's and code reading he will like that and most likely not even use the tuning. I should be able to see it in a few days.

Yes. It displays parameters and reads codes.

I don't know if you posted a picture of the box, but I don't see any pictures.
