sniper programmer
The only difference is that the DP has a fancy switch with more tunes (up to 16) and the Sniper can only hold 5 tunes.
I don't know why anyone would need any more than 5 tunes...
The chips are the same the only thing different are the people programing them. I have a guy close to where I live who programs 7.3L and I like his tunes. I had a opportunity to ride along in a DP-Tunned truck and I wasn't too impressed. (I liked mine better).
If you have the chip you could possibly mail it to him to flash it with programs I'll have to talk to him though...
Do you have the actual "Chip" or do you have the black box that flashes the PCM via OBD-II port?
It's NOT the same program....Diane will be on here to tell you that. I have Sniper Delta Force and it's NOT $3000 for the program (unless you're talking about something other than PCMX). The only time you spend thousands of dollars is if you spend $5000 for enough templates to tune just about anything (and I know). Depending on the vendor, you can get the entire Delta Force to tune one vehicle for $700-$800. The chips between DP-Tuner and Sniper are also 100% different. I know that too for a fact.
Unless Jody has the software to burn a TS chip (and be encrypted correctly to work with the modified addressing), then he cannot do it.

The sniper and DP-tuners chips are different but they do the same thing, they can both change the same parameters. That is all I am saying....
Edit: You can change the same parameters if you have the correct software.

We use to sell TS chips with Jody's tunes. We did for 2 years, but now that we have the F5 there was no need to continue developing tunes for them. The F5 chips have a different encrytion, our hardware is made by a different company and can only be programmed with Jody's tunes. Our authorized dealers can burn them, but only with Jody's tunes.

I have a couple questions for you that you might be able to answer. No one else has ever heard of it (on such a regular basis anyway) and I hate bothering Lott all the time. With these TS chips, I run into an issue where the chip won’t “wake-up” on the first ignition cycle fast enough for the PCM to recognize it and I get the subsequent no WTS light/fuel pump and no start. If I cycle the ignition key twice within about 5 seconds it will wake up and work normally. It happens almost exclusively on the 99.5-up trucks….like the PCM is waking up faster than the chip…..but the capacitor on the chip takes too long to saturate. I have removed the capacitor but no help. Sometimes it does it, and sometimes not. The OBS trucks are less affected (slower wake up time on those PCM’s?)
Also, when switching programs on the OBS trucks, intermittently the truck will buck, the WTS light comes on, and acts like the PCM rebooted. Any ideas there? The Superduty trucks have yet to exhibit this problem.
Thanks for the help if you have any ideas!!

If you are having issues I would discuss this with the dealer you purchased it from.
