I rebuilt my 1996 4r70w and bolted it to the motor and transfer case, set it on my test stand, wired it up. No drive shafts hooked up, just open yokes. Crank the engine and it sounds like the motor is bogged down really bad with now yoke rotation. Shift to neutral, and the yokes start turning forward somewhat slow. Shift to drive and they take off. Start accelerating and at the point where it should be shifting, it starts to bind up. It sounds like it went ahead and shifted, but I counted 6 shifts!!! I THINK something's wrong.
Has anyone else dealt with this situation? I'm hoping a transmission man can help. None of my local tranny people care to help unless I'm paying the to rebuild the tranny, which as most of you know takes a $200 dollar kit, some tools, and a little time... not worth the 2000-2800 they want me to pay them.
