Derale... for Power Steering?

Well as some of you know from following the other Derale Install thread, I recently got a 1/2" Derale Thermostat to install instead of the 3/8" one I had previously ordered. I now have a 3/8" one that I dont know what to do with. Along with my tranny install, I took off the entire front end of my truck to convert it to the 05-07 front end. Along with this, I updated to a 6.0 TC and a 6.0 CAC. I also picked up a bigger power steering cooler for like $5 or something. For that price I can easily modify it a little bit to bolt up.
So... my question is. Well actually, I have a couple questions. First, what temp should the fluid be kept below (I presume similar temps to the ATF considering im running ATF in my power-steering system) Second, what temp does power-steering normally run at? Third, with that bigger cooler, will my temps still reach high enough temperatures? And fourth, do you think it would be okay to install my 3/8" thermostat in the power-steering lines? Thanks guys!

Unless you are constantly turning left or right... and I mean CONSTANTLY... your fluid won't warm up more than what engine heat will do. I doubt even REALLY big tires would do much either; the problem with big tires is me more due to mechanical/structural limitations of the steering box.

Best use for the 3/8" Derale would be to offer it up to an FTE brother/sister. They are a little tough to come by and both sides win.

I suppose I could do that, but I figured that anybody who is looking to get a thermostat for their tranny would go for a 1/2" one since they are virtually the same price and I don't know why you wouldn't opt for more flow for the same price.

I have burnt my PS fluid before so that's why I might as well go with the bigger cooler.
With the bigger cooler though, I want it to be able to get up to full operating temperature to eliminate excess moisture or what have you.
What I don't know is what temp the PS pump runs best at or what ever as in is 180* too hot?

Tranny Fluid is designed to be used at 170-180 degrees according to John Woods. According to Mark Kovalsky, you won't hurt it until you get north of 220, so that is the range I would look at.

That is what i figured. In case anyone was wondering, I did install a larger cooler and a thermostat. Haven't had the chance to drive it around too much, but it seems to be working well in the little bit that I have driven it.
