Last couple questions (for at least a week!) Along with my leaky gas tank, I am experiencing acceleration issues. When I press down on the gas there is a bogged down feeling/sound - like a skipped beat (no rev for a split second) - like the truck might stall. If I push harder it revs up higher, but at lower revs is where it seems to skip. I'm wondering if it is related to the leaky gas tank issue.
My belt question is this: the so called mechanic who said the gas smell was gone (that was in fact not gone, but leaking right under his nose) said my ...... some type of belt needed replacing. It's the one that turns the fan and is around what I'm assuming is the cams? What belt part is that, I was only able to find a chain belt, which this one is not chain. Thanks...AGAIN.
#1. Old gas in the system and/or accelerator pump in carb needs replaced usually is the problem causing Hesitation.
#2. It is called the "fan belt". Sometimes called a "v-belt". It's going around at least your water pump, alternator pulley, and crank pulley.
