As of late, it's been pretty bright out. I don't always wear sunglasses, prefer not to but the glare from my truck hood is pretty bad.
It's like I need a visor on the bottom of the windshield, just been blocking it with my hand.
Anyone have a similar issue? Considered vinyling the center of the hood black, not sure if that'd look good or not but would definitely help with the glare.
Also wondered if there's some kind of really light tint I could put on there that the cops couldn't notice as it is illegal to tint your windshield.
It is generally acceptable with the boys in blue to tint the upper six to eight inches of the windshield. Use the rear view mirror button as a guide.
Vinyl wraps are good for maybe five to six years. Why not shoot the hood with satin clear over black?
Well, if I didn't like it it'd cost a bit more to have it painted back same color but it's a thought.
Thanks for the responses, Polarized Sunglasses we'll try first. I'd do a trim on the top of the glass but I don't think it'd look good and the glare usually hits mid windshield.
Anything brighter than night seems to hurt my eyes, though I can see very well in low light conditions. Polarized sun glasses are the best thing in the world for glare and sunlight.

There are two small lines on the windshield called the AS1 line. This is acceptable in most states to tint down to. I know in Texas it is. These lines are on the pillar side of the glass about 6 inches down.
The crawlers use plasti dip spray paint to "Protect" their jeeps from the thrown up rocks in the trail. A kid here at work went a bit extra and did his Silver Jeep hood, grill and chrome wheels for less than $20 it comes in a spray can and peels right off when you don't want it. No discoloration, and no further paint damage while it's on.
Plasti Dip is the best i did my grill and it looks amazing. ITs really inexpensive and it really does peal off clean. Just make sure that the surface is really clean before. There are all sorts of videos on youtube that explains everything. its called dip your car
