I'm going to be putting in a solid dana 44 very soon. I have a few questions about it and i know a few people on here have done it.
Should I get new lift springs for the front? I was thinking of Cutting off the coil mout on the one i have now and welding it to the dana 44 with a 2 inch piece of pipe under it to giive it more lift. But then I found some skyjacker 9 inch lift coils for not too much money. I dont know.
Then there's the caster issue. I was planning on using 73-77 bronco radius arm brackets. Will these plus new C bushings correct the caster enough to be usable? Besides that im not too worried about it.
I don't mind some additional caster myself but not that much. I would buy at least some 4 inch drop brackets. They also make longer radius arms for them. That would lessen the angle with only a 4" drop bracket. You do have to put the brackets further back on the frame I think though.
I did this swap a year and a half ago on my 94F1504x4. Didn't use a kit either. Email me for parts list. See my gallery for a few swap pics. jlcsjh@aol.
