Swapping everything onto donor frame, doable?

Swapping everything onto donor frame, doable?

So, just brainstorming, if I were to find a donor truck (ideally an F350 DRW LWB, with a blown motor or trans, crappy interior, etc) on the cheap, how doable would it be to swap my cab, motor, trans, etc onto the donor frame, suspension, and axles? In my mind, I envision my Lariat cab and interior, cared-for motor, and JW trans swapped over to the donor chassis and add a flatbed or hauler bed. Is it more trouble than I'm thinking it would be?

I think you would be better off leaving the cab and swap out the interior.

But for motor and trans I was actually considering doing that wa week ago, try to find a clean truck with a bad drivetrain.

I was thinking about a clean truck without rust. It looks like the op wanted to go from a srw to a drw, going by his picture

More specifically, a drw longbed. Otherwise the conversion to a drw shortbed would require less work.

I was just thinking of finding a new bed and axle the other day. Odd that we all think doing some type of swaping to get to the same point. DRW and Long bed. Yes, its all doable.
