quick question on E40D

quick question on E40D
Found a crew cab that I may pick up. Is an E40D transferable between a regular cab and crew cab? I assume they are, but want to make sure. Mine is starting to go, and would want to swap trans so I could sell mine, and put a built one in the crew cab.

Thank you! Also - if my trans was rebuilt 25K miles ago, and operates fine under easy acceleration, but bangs around a bit under hard acceleration in 1st gear, is there any way that I can get the trans shop to do a inexpensive fix to buy time, or is that a complete rebuild scenario?
