Belt Replacement

About 2 years ago, when I got my 97 F-350, my serpentine belt tore in half, and did a lotttt of bad things under the hood as a result of it. I've got a bunch of extra belts, but I'm still always worried about it happening again.
My question is, when do you guys recommend replacing the belt? It had 56k miles when it tore, and it currently has 76.5k miles now.

Unless it is badly cracked or is making a lot of noise, I wouldn't worry about it. Check the tensioner and idler pullies to be sure they're running true, but if everything looks and sounds good, I don't see a reason to change it all that often unless it helps you sleep at night.

^^^^^^ what Nate said plus look at the sides of the belt to see if they are OK. That will help you tell if the belt is running true.
