Truck issues

Hey Guys,

Rather than bombard you guys with several different post I decided to do one big post and show case some of the problems I am attempting to work on.
First this video will show what I am dealing with as far as the steering wheel. The wheel can be picked up and moved from side to side and up an down.

Not sure what causes that however I know that it doesn't feel safe when I am driving it.

Next video shows the new water pump and the amount of reddish discharge that can be seen from the radiator on the new water pump and it is also covering the inside of each radiator hose. There is a nasty smell coming from the hoses as well as the radiator. My uncle has told me that he can tell the engine got very hot at some point in the past.

and for the last video this is of my truck running. it really doesn't sound to bad however, at this point I am hearing a pecking sound coming from deep inside the engine and I am pretty certain that it's hurt. I had thought that I would be okay with just replacing the hoses and adding antifreeze then working on replacing the oil pump. but at this point that doesn't look promising. I thought if I took a video maybe you guys could give me your thoughts. Also apparently the truck had seafoam ran through it and then apparently the oil was never changed afterwards. So I am thinking the little to no oil pressure might be right. somewhere maybe something is clogged.

Again I appologise about the book. I am currently in collage and I am learning this stuff as I go along. any knowledge I may have has come from you guys and from reading books. I start the technical core of my AAS degree in August were I will be learning how to rebuild engine's, fuel system, and Electrical for my first semester. So please bare with me as I attempt to fix my truck and thanks for taking the time to help me.

Regards,
John

The problem #1 is the wheel bearing, it's broken and needs to be replaced ASAP.

Problem #2, do several flushes until you have clean fluid in the cooling system, if the condition shows again further actions might be required.

Problem #3, go ahead and replace the pump, clean the oil pickup very well, then assemble and see if the problem goes away. But that doesn't look too good, keep an eye on it. Btw, did you actually check the oil pressure? you have a real oil pressure gauge? don't believe the idiot light in the stock gauges.

No I was going by the stock gauges in the truck... The engine has around 278,000 miles on it and I suspect that maybe it needs a rebuilt or replaced. Do you know of a write up on how to replace that steering wheel bearing?
Thanks for the reply

Does it burn any oil? I would just keep the oil level on check, if you change that pump all the better, just keep running that engine until it fails.

Search the net for the bearing replacement info, it isn't that complicated, deactivate the airbag, remove it, use the steering wheel puller, pull the bearing and replace... I actually don't remember 100%, but I'm guessing it goes like that.

When I owned the truck the first time it used maybe a half a quart every 5,000 miles. However after I bought it back it was 2 quarts low on oil and have not driven it enough to find out how much it goes through now. thanks for all the info btw

I gotta replace all the hoses because they are all dry rotted I will be doing that this weekend and attempting to get it going.
