Some Motivation Needed

I just purchased everything needed for a ARP head stud install in hopes of lowering cost at the shop here in Anchorage. Saved $1k compaired to their pricing. Now he will won't touch it. The only other shop will do it though for $4600 using my parts minus warrenty. So what I need is some no BS on how bad is it for a guy to do this, that has good mechanical skills and a shop to work in, The auto skills center on base. As of now my truck has everything done to it Delete/Coolant Filter/FICM/Blue Spring/Updated Oil Cooler/ICP everything was completed by me. Thanks

That is a little steep for labour, and this is coming from a dealer tech. Even at the dealer I'm at, at $114 per hour labour you'd be looking at about $3000 to $3500 for this job, in CANADIAN dollars too.

Don't do the studs yet unless absolutely necessary. Hang on to them until you can get to a different city/Canada/or the lower 48 and have them done then. Take your time, shop around.
