The door sticker on a 00 f-250 does not have anything filled in for the axle section. The tags are rotted off as well. Any clue to tell what axle is in it?
You'll have to do it the old-fashioned way of counting driveshaft/wheel rotations to get the ratio and to observe the wheel rotation to see if it's an open or an LS differential.

Does the vin offer this?
As I just found out, the axle code is on the axle sticker. Second line will show the axle ratio first, ring gear diameter second, and date of mfg last.
Example... 3L73 (3.73 limited). 105 (10.5" ring gear) 6A19 ( 2006' Jan, 19)
Enjoy.
Have you tried to look up the window sticker? I'm not sure how old vehicles you can look up the sticker for but when I was searching new cars this was an invaluable resource for checking stickers of online ads with VINs. Go to www.researchmaniacs.com in the auto section to see the Ford logo for VIN sticker lookup. Axle is usually listed on window stickers plus it's very cool to see the sticker for a used vehicle you bought!

AXLE code printed on the Certification Label (1980 thru today), Rating/Warranty Plate (1957/79), not included in VIN
Rear axle ID tag located under one of the bolts that retains the inspection cover to housing or on a label that is glued on.

Good info, but some of them are blank on the certification label. Mine has a space for the axle code but nothing is there. I suspect this is why the OP is asking.
No need to count driveshaft revolutions, it's quite simple. Go to FordEtis home page and enter your VIN to find details of your truck as it left the factory. Axle ratio is part of this.
