I have a '78 F250 4X4 that has a connector at the bottom edge of the dash in front of the gear shift angled towards the driver. The wires run under the carpet to a box behind the seat on the drivers side. Anyone have any idea on what this is?

That is the port for a factory CB. Ranger 429 helped me out with the same thing a couple weeks back. I posted a photo of my anntenae last week and was told it was the factory CB/ radio anntenae. Ranger 429 has some good photos of what the factory mic looks like. Do you have a little black **** on the dash to hang the mic on?
