I have a 2003 F-350 with a 6.0 Diesel with a alternator light going in and out I am looking for a NEW ALTERNATOR no remanufacture that has a higher out put no factor remanufacture . Can any gave me a make and model of very good replacement I also need alternator connector pigtail to go with it. I did have one reply from another thread.
The best thing to do if you want responses is to create your own thread. However, since this one is in the New Member Introductions forum, you're not going to get a lot of alternator help here. That, and this forum really isn't for that.
So, I'm moving your thread into the 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel forum as it's own thread instead of a post piggybacking on a separate thread.
If you look around a bit here in the 6.0 forum you'll see quite a few threads on the subject. The DC Power high-output units have been a favorite here for a while but apparently they are having trouble keeping up with demand. Seems to be a good product if you can get what you order when it's supposed to be there.
There are several eBay sellers listing high output units for good prices but the jury is still out here. They have good seller feedback with eBay however.
If you live in or near a bigger city looking up a local rebuilder is a good (and often less expensive) option. Tell them what you want and have it built to your specs.
You could also read a bit on some of the car audio sites. Those guys are waaay picky about alternators and power issues.
I went with a Tenney 270a and didn't pay anywhere near what dc power wants for a270. I also got my alternator without having to wait. Lifetime warranty.
