...But, this is really the only forum I spend any real time on, mainly because of the folks here. So here's my story with a question at the end...
A few weeks ago I found out I owed the Feds quite a bit of money for my taxes, NYS is small business friendly is a crock of *****, anywho, I had to sell my beloved 86 Buick Grand National to come out of a bind, I hated to sell it but you do what you gotta do. I made out ok in the deal, so I had a little cash to put away and a little to spend so I picked up a 88 Mustang GT 5 Speed, Hatch Back, all original with 53k on it.
I was wondering if there is a good Fox Body forum I could join that has the type of folks like on here.
So sorry for the non truck question, juts looking to see if anyone can help.
I'm just trying to get acclimated, its a whole new game compared to the GN, I'm hoping the mustang people are as close knit as the SD folks are. I have lots of questions and need a source of answers.
Make a nice pavement pounder, I don't want to mess with it too much cause its that clean. I will post a pic of it soon in this thread. I never took the opportunity to drive my GN cause I thought I would have it forever, but I learned from that...enjoy what you have while you have it.
You've got a million options with the 5.0 Lots of bolt on items out there to add more pep to the 225HP that the stock motor makes. You can build one cheap too. An intake, cam, heads, headers, 4:10 gears, Msd, is a good starting point. Also, the '87-89's handled spray better than the later ones, if you wanted to go that route... I blew up my '93 less than 24hrs after buying it. I tried a 125 shot on it, live & learn..
Where do you want to start? What type of pavement pounding do you like doing? Straight or winding?
Mostly just street driving, maybe an occasional day at the track. Its already got BBK headers, cat deletes, and flowmaster 40's.
Just trying to get a few things sorted out before I look into some mods. She runs great, needs a tune up, still has all the original plugs wires cap rotor etc., on it.
I need to reseal the intake, and was thinking of putting some FORD Racing valve covers on it, maybe a Trick Flow intake and 75mm TB while its apart.

Sarge
Forgot the T-body as well. Be careful, some of those valve covers won't clear your intake.
Yeah I noticed that some of them are a little tall. I'm not planning on doing any major engine work right now. The valve cover gaskets are leaking and I figured I would dress it up a little while I'm at it.
