Need some advice: Looking at a 2004 4 cyl

Hey guys, im usually on the 7.3 and excursion forum but im looking at a 2004 reg cab with the 4 cyl and 5 speed manual. It has 71k, new tires, its in awesome shape, no dents or dings, interior is great and it is owned buy an old couple. Hes asking $6500, so do you think that is a fair asking price? Anything I should look for or expect to go bad that would be common with these engines or tranny?

Thanks in advance.

Here's a link for pricing. Enter info/zip code/options. CHeck front end( ball joints etc.) Shift rail plugs in tranny can leak.

Thanks, I did the nada and the guy is right on with the price. Also looked at the shift rail fix and that looks to be a piece of cake. I will crawl underneath and look at everything.

I have one of these but an 02, hard to beat for small truck fuel economy and not much to go wrong. The price seems spot on if its on good shape.

I also have an 02 but with an automatic trans. Have had to replace the plastic thermostat housing and recently the upper and lower ball joints. Had to replace the upper control arms as the ball joint alone could not be replaced by itself. Thats it...
