Not all the time, about 50%, but when I shut it down I get and audible and physical clunk from underneath. I can feel it on the floor but it may be transmitting the vibration from elsewhere. I notice its only when the engine gives a little shimmy when shutting down. <-- kind of obvious. I let it idle in park for about a minute minimum to let the turbo cool down if that means anything.
Im trying to isolate a pattern of the shake and/or what may be hitting the body and why. I need to check the trans mount and motor mounts. Maybe lay under and have the wife shut it off a couple of times to see if I can pinpoint it. Yes, I trust her.
I've seen a few posts on this but no answers or solutions. Just wondered if this was ever tracked down. Thanks in advance.
I can almost guarantee it is your down pipe. When I had my 5" exhaust on the X, the down pipe would hit the frame next to the starter every time I shut it down. It drove the wife crazy enough that she had me put a 4" exhaust on. Problem solved for me. Crawl under there and see how much clearance you have against the frame for your down pipe. If there isn't any, or it is within a 1/4 inch, that is likely your noise-maker. Solution is to take the clamps loose on each end of the pipe and adjust it to the middle of the gap it sits in between the frame and bell housing. Then tighten the clamps back down. Hope this helps.
