Rusty Bed options?

Like the rest of the northeast Ford family I now have a bed I believe I need to replace. Trying to weight out the cost of cutting out the wheel arches and the supports and replacing the gate is making a new take off bed the cost effective option. As most of you in the northeast know it is difficult to find a nos take off for my 03 F250 short bed. I did pass an 05 with a 2012 bed which didn't look so bad. If anyone has pics of a new bed on an older Super Duty please send them. Or if there is a thread on anyone redoing their bed please post it.

kind of in the same boat myself. i have rust poking out from under one fender flare, holes rusted in the bed floor from the trucks previous vocation, and the front right mount looks to be failing (not lining up with cab quite right)... it's the same thing, do you put money into the obvious spots then have more pop up next spring, or just suck it up and put a new bed on all together. NOS takeoffs are going for $1500-2000 on craigslist around here.

there was a thread this winter with some pics of an '11+ bed on an earlier model.. didn't look too bad.

Thanks bbender85, i'll look for the pics tonite. I'm in CT and can't find a bed close by. I'll prob havta drive up to MA to get one. Local bone yards want 2K for a 99-05 bed with damage. I think best bet is a new take off.

Where are you in CT? I drive by hartford truck equipment everyday and they have quite a few beds there, short beds are harder to find though
