What is the clearance on a 01 f-150 4x4 w/ 265/17 tires? I've checked the "specs" section on this forum but can't find this data for the truck. It's there for the Escape and Explorer but not for trucks.
Also where do you measure from? I presume the bottom of the differential.
I have a friend whose new Subaru has more ground clearance than a Explorer and almost as much as my truck- or so he claims. I've already found data showing the Explorer has 1.5" more clearance but I wanted to find the truck numbers so I could rub it in properly. His Subaru is really nice but it's still a car(station wagon) and for $36,000 his two sun roofs are not that impressive.
Thanks, that's what I figured. Looking at a friends lifted truck it appears the brackets holding the springs on hang down halfway to the ground. He claims because they are so close to the wheel they won't hit. I think they will. I think he'll be in for some unpleasant grinding if he ever decides to take that thing off-highway.
