On my '92, 300, I was removing the EGR from the tube, and the lower threaded part broke off flush in the tube. I have to no avail, removing it. Heated with MAP gas, penetrating oil, #6 extractor, its not breaking free from the pipe. I can turn the nut in either direction, but the cast iron isn't breaking free. Its already a safety issue since the fuel lines run just underneath.
It doesn't look to be an easy task to remove the entire tube either, since I'm sure it's gonna only get worse with bolts that haven't been touched in 21 years.
I welcome any advice and suggestions. Thanks again!
Can you remove the tube from the exhaust manifold? That would make it easier for the simple fact that you can get it in a vise or on a work bench to keep working at it.
As for the actual removal...sorry, no suggestions at the moment.
