Got it back together and fired it up.
Clack clak clak!

Uh oh!

Pulled the inspection plate off. Fired it up. No noise. Phew! Bent the plate and put it back on.

Very odd pedal feel!

I had the same problem, stupid inspection plate rubbing in one spot.

SMF has a much reduced pedal feel, if thats what you mean by odd. Doesn't take long to get used to.
