Troubleshot my 77 F100

Greetings from Salem Oregon
Figured I'd say hi to the guys(gals?) who have trucks in this era. And wow I figured out how to get a photo posted. Yea!

Last August I bought my 77 F100 solely based on it purring when idling, decent wheels, it being a SWB and me being impulsive. I wasn't able to test drive it for safety reasons and had it towed to a friends. I finally troubleshot..troubleshooted or did some troubleshooting...OK I just looked it up on Google. Troubleshot is a word.
Anyway I went threw the fuel system and narrowed an original problem to the carburetor which someone just helped me rebuild. The carb most likely will need fine tuning once I actually take this on the road in the near future.

Yesterday, I just scored at a junkyard...from a Ranger

1) locking hood release w/key

2) A hood latch from a 90 Econoline(from what I have been gleaning from here it might work-looks like it should after I do the cable repair I read about.(garypettengill ). There was another 91 that looked the same also.

3) A wiper delay
4) An under frame spare carrier and the retaining nuts were in great shape. It unbolted easily but slowly..5 inches of thread? The carrier on another truck had a 5 sided nut ?!?!
5) One fr fender(get another later) for a repair on rear arches(info stated on this site)
6) and a chain winch spare carrier I may mod with the original carrier.

For $50.

Thanks for helping one another with info. Amazing ...the wealth of knowledge even for those who think they know it all. Jowiliker and Numberdummy must have touched every single part on some of our trucks. Hats off to you. I have owned several 73-79, an 84, a 65 and a 72 Bronco. My first and only new car I ever owned was an 81 Ford...I can't admit what it was just yet although the list is short. And it is a color I don't care for now. I could have had a 68 camaro instead. While working on the SWB I am searching for an early Bronco project.
Thanks
Paul G

I'm older than my truck and the one I want.

Nice score! as you've discovered many parts are junk yard "friendly", just takes a lil effort.
