Super Duty Backup Camera
Back to the Rostra website. I had one of their cameras in a Tundra. They have a kit fr the Super Duty that comes with the camera already installed in the tailgate handle and the video screen is integrated in a replacement rear view mirror. I spent about an hour installing the tailgate handle and running the video cable along the frame to the cab. I tie-wrapped the cable every place I could and emclosed it in loom every place where it might rub against the frame.
Not wanting to tackle the electrical system on a new truck, I took it to a local truck acc/Hitch shop that does a lot of work for me. Their installation guy is a whiz. He charged me $70 to do the wiring which included removal/replacement of kick panel, a-Piller cover, sorting out the wiring and closing it up. Not a bad deal. Total price, $470 for the camera kit and $70 for the wiring, less than half of what the dealership wanted. I go back Friday to get clearance lights put on.
The Rostra sytems are actually pretty good.
