Dana 44 Locker
How common were the Dana 44 lockers? I'm hoping to put one in my '51 Dana 44. How would I be able to identify one and find the axle ratio too. I would like to find one in a junkyard.

I've never heard of a factory locker except in the new rigs like Toyota and Jeep. I'm not saying that there aren't any. I'm not a Dana 44 expert but I've never heard of a stock one. Maybe a limited slip but I don't think those were too common in a front diff. Are you looking at a Dana 44 for a rear diff? If so that's a possibility I guess.

I haven't heard of a front factory locker either, which means if they exist, they are so rare that I doubt you'll find one in a yard. You could find a front limited slip but I wouldn't bother putting in a used one.
