Spend their money !!!

If you had a store credit at your dealer.... what would you get ?

Very thankful good things lately around the household allowed two NICE new Fords to be put in the garage...
I have a great problem to pick something either for a 2013 f-350 platinum with the option list below (YEAH !!! )
OR
something for the wife's new 2013 Explorer Sport.... (Nah !!!)

the real issue is that the 350 came with SO much more than I wanted,
not much left to choose from !

Do any of you have and how do you like it:
ceramic Tint ?
bed extender
splash guards
Cargo Organizer
rear sway bar
locking fuel cap ?
or anything else not listed that Ford dealer would offer???

I can't decide.... and some of the stuff I can get aftermarket and/or cheaper,
so guess I should focus on the ford only items ?

(Included the Explorer Option list just in case I relent and get HER something for HER leased explorer )

this is one of the nicer issues I've had to deal with in a while

For the F350 get the rear sway bar, you won't regret it!
I am really happy my F250 has it with the camper package! I got mud flaps from Duraflap.com, they are the best I have found. I have Weathertech digital fit floor mats to save the carpet and like them allot.
For the Explorer does it have a rear cargo mat/organizer?
So the Dealer is giving you extra bucks to spend there? Cool deal, but all to be expected as you are the Customer of the Year!!!!

I will be interested in the mileage and impression of the Explorer. It is on my wife's short list along with the new Grand Cherokee with the diesel.....
Enjoy.

Thanks Pat...
sway bar would be a 'smart' upgrade - but it's hidden and I can get a hellwig for it, right ?

Impressions of Explorer Sport ?!?

WOW - MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than the 2011 Audi Q5 we traded in !!!

do NOT drive one or you will have to get it 'for her'

we got the tuxedo black metallic which is stunning in the sun !

She gets about 21 mpg running around dfw, have not taken it on a trip (and probably won't ) that's what the 350 is for

I get about 17 mpg around town - I can't stay out of the twin turbos !!!

I have the bed extender and it is one of the best options I ordered on the truck. I have only used it a couple of times to actually extend the bed, truck is a long box, but use it everyday inside the bed to keep tools, material or even groceries from sliding around.

Hidden, but important for great towing, or at least that is my feeling. It helped so much with the Excursion that I had to have it on the F250. I have not checked to see if Helwig has a fit for the new trucks, but I bet they do. You can't go wrong either way.
I am trying to stay away from the dealer because of what you have found. I was very happy with my Excursion until I drove my F250. I know it will be expensive if I get behind the wheel of a new Explorer Sport..... I am trying to hold off as long as I can!
We always take the truck on road trips, towing, or not. It is just too comfortable and fun to drive. Heck it even gets within a couple mpg of what my Escape gets on the Hwy.... so the $ penalty to drive it is not that bad and we both like it much more!!!
Enjoy and KEEP away from the RV dealership!!!

I'd do the molded spalsh guards if it was mine. Since I did just order a set. Maybe the SRW with the flares in the front won't be as bad, but my dually made a mess of itself without them!

Certainly not something you see but the "smart" decision of the sway bar would be what I would get.
You can add stuff everyone else can see later and it'll be even better since you added it!

Both good choices, something for each rig!

Mine goes in for it's 15,000 mile service. I am NOT going to go look at F350s....
I may look at the Explorers for the wife though....

I'm telling you stay AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that's what happened to us,
we had some time to kill before meeting a couple for Sat night dinner and drove thru the dealership where they had just gotten a black sport in and the wife said "Oh, look !"

it had the black and sienna interior which is gee-or-g-ous !

she called the friends and said we will be 15 minutes late and test drove it...
we couldn't stay to deal on it and not having done any research, I didn't want to anyway,
so said we'd come back in on Monday but they sold it that night...

it took a week to find one that wasn't pre-sold here in dfw with what she wanted and she loves it ! (and $200/mth cheaper than her Audi !)

FYI, and guess we were supposed to have this truck too....
When we got the windows sticker in, it said "SPECIAL ORDER" meaning someone ordered it like that and we ended up getting it...
