axle seal question

I believe the shaft on the left is a D50, that the stub that fits into the housing. The clip in the middle sits in the groove on the machined end. It pops into place after the shaft has been inserted into the carrier and keeps if from pulling out.

This is from a D44 but there are almost the same I believe, you can see the C clip in the blow up

I know what a c-clip is, give me some credit

But would you look at that, learn something new every day.




OP, you're going to have to get into the pumpkin (differential) to remove the c-clips to get that axle out

I was looking for a picture off the diff with the axle and clip still in it, those where the best I could find on google. I know i had one too, must have deleted it.

Deffinately not the best design around. All I wanted to do was change the u joints, ended up with the whole front axle disassembled.
