I have tried this on my amazon fobs but it still does not seem to recognize the fobs. Of course, my fobs from amazon may not be frequency adjustable, but they look identical even to the internals.
Or maybe just matching the frequency is not enough?
Took my original working fob to the local locksmith and he says that he can clone it using a universal cloning remote for about $100. I thought that was a bit much. So I have ordered a universal cloning remote myself from ebay for about $8 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-Uni...72.m2749.l2649 - and will see whether I can clone the original. It says that it will work with a PIC16F630 chip and the chip in the original remote is a PIC16C54A, so they are of the same family so maybe it will be able to clone the original.
I was able to clone the original, but it still does not work on my truck. So, I guess i try the locksmith. Unless, there are better universal cloning remotes that might work. Just not sure why this one did not work.
I tried the same but gave up, i thought maybe the f250s use the ba falcon remote set up, similar years, i might even get a ba aftermarket one and try it,
been quoted similar from locksmith, they prolly need a working remote to copy it? if not ill wait till mine dies.
I have a 2004 BA falcon ute with the 5.4l V8 and have tried programming that remote on my F250, but it did not work. I have pretty well given up on it. The one remote I have for the F250 works, but I only have the one. Maybe one day I will try the locksmith, but even so their universal remote might not work since I suspect that the original remote (which does work) may use a rolling code. The reason I say that is that the remote I got on eBay can be cloned but it works once only, and no more than once. Yes, they probably will need a working remote. Still, they did say to me that I should bring the F250 to them to check to see whether their cloned remote did in fact work on the vehicle and if not then no doubt they would not charge me the $100.
