Haven't been here in a while.but here's my problem I have a 1960 f100 ,and I put a 302 in place of a 6cyl.Does anyone know if the electrical stuff will connect back up the same as with the old 6 cyl.I'm using old wiring harness, just replaced some broken ends. I looked pretty much everywhere that I can find and there are no diagram available for a 1960.The 302 came out of a 68 cougar.
TWR, Better you post this over in the 57-60 forum. Sorry, I didn't catch it before now.
I would think the same wiring system should work. It won't be an injected engine, so no wiring for the fuel system. You would need a couple wires for the coil, a couple wires for the starter/solenoid, and what wiring the 6 had for the charging system could be transferred to the 302. Pretty similar if I remember correctly.
I have a 57 that had a 272 and replaced that with a 302/C-4 from a 69 Fairlane GT. Still in the infancy stages, I'm believing I won't have a problem just replacing bad wires in it.
There are some good color wiring diagrams available but I forgot where to find them. Someone else should be along to give you that info, sorry.
