Well, I'm still collecting parts for my '89 F-250 4x4 project and am wondering about the transfer case. I have decided to run an E4OD, but I have a NP 208 from an '84 F-250. I understand that Ford never used this transfer case behind this tranny - is it compatible?
Also, which BW transfer case would have came originally behind the E4OD in an '89 F-250?
Finally, which of these two transfer cases is the strongest or better designed?
The 13-56 was used behind many trucks. I don't know exact specific years, but my dad's 88 F-250 HD has it and so does my 95 F-150. I also know that it was used in F-350s around those years.
The 13-45 and the NP208 had a fixed yoke on both ends, way better but you need a two piece drive shaft The 13-56 has a fixed yoke on the front and slip yoke on the rear drive.
