EGR Delete

Is it worth it to delete the EGR I have a spartan tuner and DPF delete so should I delete the EGR i have all the parts to just it looks like a bit**. any advice

It won't increase your mpgs...if that is what you are after.

To delete the EGR would guarantee that you would never bend a rod from a egr cooler leak, not that bad coolers are a big problem with the 6.4, but it does happen. If you have the parts I would do it, plus it will declutter the engine compartment a tad.

I was told by a mechanic if the EGR's are gone I risk a high pressure event that will blow my head gaskets.

Boost. Have to watch it since no waste gate. Egr acts as the waste gate

will having the boost defuel limit set act the same as a waste gate to an extent? i know i can still go over the set limit slightly but not hardly.

Lots of people run egr delete without blowing head gaskets, you would really have to running it hard to do damage, many posts on egr deletes, time for more reading to make a intelligent decision.

Yes you can your defuels or boost alarms. Lots do not have a problem

I have a thread on this. I called spartan wondering the same thing about wategates. They feel confident that if you're not adding more than 500hp to your truck it will be ok. I'm taking my egr off for the simple reason its a junk set-up.

Will do. Finally decided to delete the DPF/Cat , will happen Tuesday.
